6 Ways to clean a Rug or Carpet

You need :

  • 1 tablespoon of black soap
  • A bucket with 2l of lukewarm water
  • A sponge
  • A brush
  • Mix the black soap in lukewarm water. Then apply directly to the stains using the sponge. Leave on for a few minutes then brush vigorously with a hand brush. Rinse if necessary with clean water.

3. Clean a carpet with white vinegar

The vinegar is now for some years a must for all those and all those who love the natural solutions!

What you need? Remove one or more targeted shallow spots.

You need :

  • 500 ml of white vinegar
  • A bucket with 200 ml of lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons of dish washing liquid
  • A sponge
  • Combine the vinegar, lukewarm water and washing up liquid. Then apply directly to the stains using the sponge. Rinse with clean water.

 

4. Clean a carpet with ammonia

Ammonia is a chemical that should be handled with care. It can, however, get rid of stubborn stains in the blink of an eye.

What you need? Remove one or more stubborn targeted stains.

For which carpet? All except woolen rugs and Berber rugs.

You need :

  • Ammonia
  • Vinegar
  • Lukewarm water
  • A sponge
  • Mix in a bucket 1/3 of ammonia with 2/3 of cold water. Then immerse your sponge in it and soak the stains on your carpet by dabbing. Then rinse with vinegar water and let dry.

5. Clean a carpet with the shaving foam

Yes, you read correctly, shaving foam has cleaned properties and can help you remove stains from your rug or carpet!

What you need? Remove one or more targeted spots.

For which carpet? All except woolen rugs and Berber rugs.

You need :

  • Shaving foam
  • A sponge
  • A vacuum
  • Apply shaving foam to the stain (s), and let sit for at least an hour. Then rub with a damp sponge. You can also leave it on overnight, then vacuum to remove the residue.
